The world's first carbon sloop
Challenge
Baltic Yachts were challenged with the design and build of the world’s first carbon sailing sloop. measuring 53.9m/176ft.
S/Y Pink Gin was to be a fast racing yacht with every bit of weight taken into consideration during the yachts design process.
Anchoring was proving a particular challenge for the design team so Baltic Yachts approached Manson Anchors and Bowmaster to see if the patented Bowmaster Submarine Anchors System could be the solution.
Solution
The Bowmaster design team worked closely with Baltic Yachts to customise the existing patented Submarine Anchor System to best fit S/Y Pink Gin.
Bowmaster confidently designed this system using their comprehensive experience and knowledge from previous custom designs. These prior learnings saved time and gave Baltic confidence throughout the entire process.
The final system was a smart, simple, and robust solution. It was delivered within budget, and on-time.
Baltic Yachts have since asked Bowmaster to design and build systems for S/Y Liara and S/Y Canova.
