Functional, flush-fitting anchors

Challenge

Custom tender makers, XTender, came to Manson looking for a flush fitting anchor system for their new range of custom tenders.

There was no existing anchor on the market that fitted flat against the bow. Functionality was being compromised by flush fit.

Achieving a flush fitting anchor that could also deploy easily, proved the biggest challenge.

Solution

Manson Anchors designed a custom anchor for XTender that was fit for purpose.

The boat yard sent a splash of the tender for Manson to develop a solution around.

The Manson team developed an innovative curved articulating gravity driven arm that drops the anchor out so the anchor is deployed.

When retrieved, the system pulls the anchor in, hitting the anchor arm that is then retrieved inside the boat.

No external mechanical device was used to facilitate the arm retrieval.
