Functional, flush-fitting anchors

Challenge

Custom tender makers, Xtenders, came to Manson Anchors and Bowmaster looking for a flush fitting anchor system for their new range of custom tenders.

There was no existing anchor on the market that fitted flat against the bow.

Achieving a flush fitting anchor that could also deploy easily, proved the biggest challenge. Functionality was being compromised by flush fit.

Solution

The Manson Anchors team set about designing a custom anchor system for Xtenders that would be fit for purpose.

The boat yard sent a splash of the tender for Manson Anchors and Bowmaster to develop a solution around.

The Manson Anchors and Bowmaster team developed an innovative curved articulating gravity driven arm that drops the anchor out for seamless deployment.

To retrieve the anchor, the system pulls the anchor in and when the anchor reaches the deployment arm the arm is simultaneously pulled back in with the anchor to fit flush with the bow.

No external mechanical device was used to facilitate the arm retrieval.
