Challenge

Manson Anchors were approached by the New Zealand Navy Diving program. One new anchor was needed for the diver training vessel HMNZS Manawanui. This vessel goes to the uncharted deep waters of New Zealand for diving drills and navy exercises.

The Navy wanted one new Ray anchors to replace a damaged anchor.

Solution

The Manson Anchors team fabricated a 600kg galvanised steel Ray anchor for the vessel that was approved by Lloyd’s Register as High Holding Power (HHP).

The fitment of the anchor went smoothly, and the New Zealand Navy were delighted with the outcome.
