$270 billion Australian Navy expansion

Challenge

Manson Anchors, the sister company to Bowmaster, was approached by Luerssen’s defence team regarding the $270 billion Australian Navy expansion. The goals of the investment were to modernise Australia’s defence capabilities and maintain the country’s security.

The Navy expansion included 12 new 85m Off-shore Patrol Vessels. Manson Anchors was asked to supply anchors and chain cables for the project.

Manson Anchors and Bowmaster had worked with Luerssen on many previous projects and a trusted relationship existed.

Solution

The Manson Anchor design team worked closely with the Luerssen engineering team to ensure Manson’s Ultimus Anchor fitted the design of the vessel.

The teams worked seamlessely throughout the entire supply process. The anchors were fabricated in galvanised steel and weighed 1305kg each.
