Challenge
Premiere US-based yacht manufacturer Viking Yachts approached Manson Anchors when their kiwi customer requested Manson Plough Anchors on their new 92ft Sportfisher Yacht.
Supplying Plough Anchors would have filled the prescription, but Manson Anchors couldn’t ensure the Plough Anchors would be implemented correctly.
There was an opportunity for Bowmaster to design a seamless solution to ensure the anchor was housed perfectly.
Solution
On Review of the boat’s design and open discussions with Viking’s Head of Engineering, the Manson Sales Engineer suggested they make the deployment system as well. This would ensure a seamless integration of a fully functional and
commissioned unit. Viking could then install knowing the system was fully operational – one less hurdle for the build.
The Manson Anchors and Bowmaster team presented several options, sketches, and prices for an integrated system. The concepts varied in budget and scope, giving the yard the opportunity to explore multiple scenarios. Through this open communication an innovative retractable carriage with Manson Boss Anchor was built for the 92-foot Viking Yacht.
Manson Anchors and Bowmaster have now supplied Viking with five retractable carriage units as well a new Ray anchor system for the new 75ft motor yacht range. The client could not have been happier with the result.
